In these gloomy times the people of Ireland are waiting with bated breath to see who is to guide the nation out of the darkness and into the light. All across the country high profile candidates have thrown their hats into the ring as the public anxiously awaits the outcome of this epic contest that may well decide the future of the nation.
Don’t worry, I’m not getting that worked up over something as insignificant as the European Elections. No, what is at stake is far more important; for what we seek is a new “Spiritual Leader”, someone who can encompass the very heart of the Irish Nation. We need a new presenter for the Late Late Show.
This journalist can exclusively reveal today that one of RTE’s long lost legends, Ms Farmer Ireland herself, Mairéad McGuinness MEP may well find herself in the RTE hot seat, should things not work out on June 5th. Talking to one of our journalists today, Mairéad jokingly suggested that she would be more than qualified to be presenter. RTE sources said they would be delighted to welcome the Irish Evita back into the fold.
While Mairead’s comments were strictly tongue-in-cheek, in these uncertain times, never say never and this journalist will certainly be taking a trip to Paddy Power tonight placing a wager on this dark horse.
